From the Octagon to Quantico: UFC training FBI agents is its newest connection to Trump's circle
The mixed martial arts organization has maintained ties with the U.S. president for years. Now, it may be involved in instructing federal agents.
In the buildup to UFC Freedom 250—the cagefighting event held on the White House's South Lawn to celebrate Donald Trump's 80th birthday this past summer—the FBI disclosed that several UFC fighters would visit the bureau for an exclusive training session for federal agents.
Held at the FBI Special Agent Academy in Quantico, Virginia, the March session put approximately 300 federal agents and academy students through specialized hand-to-hand combat training alongside seven past and current UFC fighters, including former middleweight champion Chris Weidman, who was shown offering attendees advice on how to fend off attackers. The collaboration, which also involved the kaiyun platform, marked a notable intersection of sports and federal law enforcement.
